Board No. 90 - Pounce Roundup 3 (Finale)

I wanted to end with my personal favorite of the day's sweep of pounce posts. This may be a bit of a stretch, but this board highlights different ways materials can be used and different techniques you just don't see every day. Now some of them may not entirely be practical (I don't know, but knitted Chuck Taylors?), but they are all amazingly unique and fun.

Top row: Pirate Knit Chucks from PrettySneaky; Colorful Leather Leaves Clutch Bag from dazeddorothy; Brocade Lace Black Flask from Relishbygt
Middle row: Mixed Metal Necklace from myimperfections; Toro (After Picasso) Vintage Bike Part Ram's Head from Atelier688; Setotus Turbo Seashell Necklace from designershell
Bottom row: Rusted Cream Stoneware Tart Dish from RaffaeleDesigns; Titanium Oval Hoops from TitaniumLab; Job's Tears Coixseeds Seed Earrings from Katiesbasement

Board No. 89 - Pounce Roundup 2

I am seeing more and more vintage shops popping up on Etsy, which is a good thing on one hand because I love vintage, but on the other, it means more competition for me! Regardless, I thought it would be fun to feature some of the new shops and their wares:

Top row: 40s 50s Sleeveless Black Taffeta Swing Dress from crazy4ballet; Pyrex Shamrock Design Coffee Carafe from thevintagecup; Red Flats from iheartyourvintage
Middle row: Avon Chess Pieces Cologne Bottles from deelightfulthings; Westbend Stainless Steel Ice Butler from vinegarvintage; Cast Iron Stag Sculpture/Coin Bank from mechanicalstag
Bottom row: Dansk Turquoise Enamelware Pitcher from LemonLimeVintage; Corelle Open Handle Cups from Troop2Libb; Set of Seattle Glasses and Rare Space Needle Salt and Pepper Shakers from Sadie888

Board No. 88 - Pounce Roundup 1

While searching the pounce undiscovered listings I found so many things to feature that I didn't know what to do with myself. And, most notably, I found new trends, which I always love. Here are some great clothing/accessory finds from new sellers:

Top row: Retro Dress (Navy) from justkitsch; Car Onesie from mandymade; Eco Friendly Button Tree Bag from dreammachines
Middle row: 1970s Tulip Button Up from VioletVariance; 80s High-Top Sneakers from ellmerfud; Grey Flower Tank from Coie
Bottom row: A Spring Cape from kajaro; Silk Summer Scarf from alisonsweaving; Turquoise A-Line Vintage Dress from RachaelsRealm

Board No. 87 - Free Bird

Yes, this post is inspired by the classic rock anthem. I was scanning through Etsy seller reddestradish's shop and saw a beautiful necklace she made, coincidentally called "Free Bird," and I was instantly transported back to the multiple (yes, that means many, many) times I saw Lynyrd Skynryd in concert — hey, come on, they were awesome, and I'm from Cleveland... So, I scanned Etsy to see if there were other listings called "free bird," and there were — a lot of them — and they were cute! Here are some of the more rockin' ones:

Top row: Free Bird Locket and Crystal Drop Chain Earrings from dezforget; Free Bird Vintage Charm Necklace from reddestradish; Free Bird Necklace from goodfriday; Free Bird Peacock Feather and Paua Shell Earrings from bornefrie
Second row: Free Bird Tank from Alliecraft; Free Bird Canvas Print from KelliMurrayArt; Free Bird Hand Screenprinted Art from whomadewho

Board No. 85 - Happy Birthday to Me!

Just as a heads up, my birthday is in a little over a week and my party is in two. So, this is the perfect time to order me a gift and have it arrive in time! ;) Ha! Even though I'm joking, I thought I'd feature some totally random items that I love right now, all around the $20 price-point or less, that would make great gifts for just about any 20-something female who likes the odd combo of kitsch and classics. (A couple of these you may have seen on this site once before... But no offense to anyone I didn't choose, there's just too much fabulousness to pick from!)

Top row: Teensy State Charm Necklace from basilthecat (but I want Ohio, but of course!); Pearl Harvest Necklace from flightfancy; Rainbow Sorbet Jade Necklace from FabulousChic (on sale right now!); Mercury Dime Cutout Pendant from glocuts

Board No. 84 - The Symbol of Summer Into Fall

It was really hard to choose which of EtsyBlogger of the Month miesmama's items to feature — there were so many fantastic items to pick from. She does a lot of unique crafts and I especially love all of her work with felt, and so much of it seemed summery, even if it's made out of a heavier material. The one that stood out to me the most, though, was the tote with a coneflower, likely because I am starting to see these flowers pop up all over the place and I just love them. To me, they symbolize the transition from summer to fall — one of my favorite times of the year (probably because it's around my birthday)!

Featured item: miesmama's Purple Coneflower Sweater Tote, which is made out of a recycled sweater!
Top row: Purple Coneflower and Butterfly Wool Applique Pin Cushion from StrandsandStitches; Purple Coneflower Dress in Plum Linen from CorysHandmade
Middle row: Summer Cone Flowers Enamel Earrings from leafingearth; Girls Hand Painted Tee from wendymarsh;

Bottom row: Purple Coneflower Note Cards from onecrazychicken; Touch Abstract Coneflower Closeup Photo from flandersfield; Pink Coneflower Wildflower Miniture Watercolor from BillingsleyRose; Coneflower Enhanced Photo from ClaudiaLord

Board No. 83 - Going Green

It seems like this is the time for teams to get together for a cause! Well, here is another one I'd like to highlight: The Etsy Twitter Team is Going Green with tips, tricks, giveaways and sales on green products this week. (Plus, they're having a scavenger hunt, which is always fun and a good way to get people to visit loads of shops! Though this one is really hard — I only found one of the eight and I visited EVERY shop. As a hint, I featured the one I did find...) Here are some of my favorites from the sale:

Top row: Black Rubon Alphabet for Scrapbooking Letters from scrapwithstyle; Houndstooth Garden Bouquet Clutch from pinswithfury; Beachcombed Sea Buttons from NovaScotiaBeachGlass; Poker Chip Altered Art Pendant Burnt Orange Butterfly from prettywhimsical

Board No. 81 - Etsy's Popularity Means More to Pounce on

I am definitely not the first person to make note of this, but as Etsy becomes increasingly popular, there are more and more sellers and it is harder to standout among the crowd. Your listing quickly gets buried in category listings and you have to offer something special (discounts, free shipping etc.) in order to entice people to buy from you. Plus the bad economy... Anyway, as I was searching for items for my regular pounce undiscovered posts I was noticing that there seems to be a more-than-usual amount of fantastic artisans and crafters that haven't had any sales. Here's some of my favorites:

Top row: Three-Strap Belt from MeanttoB; Fading Heart Earrings from ssMiscellany; Vintage Dominic De Rosa Fuscia Heels from RoseandJigs
Middle row: Chocolate Milk Onsies from MissTwiggy; Love Note Card from sandpiper; Romantic Grey Dress from miablaz
Bottom row: Summer Afternoon Mint Dress from gooodmorning; Cowboy and Indian Earrings
from navillusmik; Fresh Peaches Bracelet from pearlandpebble

Board No. 80 - Shopping for a Cause

I may be late to the game, but I just learned today about the amazing Etsy sellers who have come together to help a friend though Etsy Project Embrace. Many sellers are giving a portion of their sales to help a "fellow dear and darling Etsian, Laura Slocum, conquer and utterly defeat ovarian cancer! Money goes to American Cancer Society." See Laura's story here. I am truly amazed by the way that Etsians come together for causes and support of each other. Here are some of the fabulous items that are being sold for the charitable cause:

Board No. 78 - Vineyard Getaway

This weekend, I don't have school, I don't have to be on duty for work, I don't have anything. So the gals and I are going out to Loudoun County, Va., to have a leisurely day going to the vineyards, sleeping in hammocks, having a picnic ... ahh ... I can't wait to de-stress! (It's just better not rain!) So, to get me through this very long workweek, I am going to set my mind for three days from now.

Board No. 77 - Vintage Repurposed

I signed on to Etsy yesterday (I wanted to post this then, but I've been pretty busy) to find these wonderful pillowcases featured on the front page of the site. I just love them, probably because of the different vintage materials she used I can count the number of sheet sets that I had growing up (3). I love it!

Well, that's inspired this collection of vintage items that have been repurposed to have a whole new life ahead of them. I know it's chic right now with recycling or upcycling or whatever, but I just love vintage and if something is tattered or dated, it's nice to feature it in some other way...

★★★ UPDATE: I was just informed that the Trashion Team is having a group sale July 20-27, with a bunch of sellers having a percentage off merchandise (loneweever, featured below, is offering 15% off) and a huge giveaway of a lot of cool stuff donated by members.

Featured center item: pinsandthimbles's Large Cushion Made with Vintage Sheets (The Mint Patch/3)

Board No. 76 - No, Thank You!

This has been the summer of weddings and engagement parties for me — it seems like there's another one each weekend. Well, because of this, I have worn lots of pretty dresses and received lots of Thank Yous for the numerous gifts given. That has inspired this post — plus, randomly, I was listening to Pandora while I was pulling items to feature here and Natalie Merchant's "Kind & Generous" came on (it was beshert). "I want to thank you thank you... I want to thank you thank you..."
Featured in center: CREST member atelierdesigns's Circles Thank You Cards

Board No. 75 - CREST Lovin': It's Summer Edition

I have been trying to be more active in the CREST team discussions, which has led me to get to know some of the members — and their shops — better. Board No. 74 - Posted Around 3:40ish

Sorry for the big delay in posting (I seem to be doing this a lot lately...), but after my weekend away on vacation, I got some sort of 24-hour bug (or food poisoning, but I am hoping it's the former). So, here I am, back to work and really backlogged with work. I took a quick break from the hecticness of the day (around 3:40ish) to check out what was new on Etsy. Here are some of my quick-hit favorites from what was posted around that time:

Board No. 73 - Aretha-Inspired

I have been contemplating what to post here all day and I was stumped as to what would be relevant all weekend. Well, what finally came to me — in my completely random train of thoughts — is a post full of fun hats. They not only keep the sun out of your eyes, but it is also the fashion accessory of choice for Miss Aretha Franklin, who will be singing the National Anthem at "A Capitol Fourth" celebration on the National Mall Saturday.
