Board No. 78 - Vineyard Getaway

This weekend, I don't have school, I don't have to be on duty for work, I don't have anything. So the gals and I are going out to Loudoun County, Va., to have a leisurely day going to the vineyards, sleeping in hammocks, having a picnic ... ahh ... I can't wait to de-stress! (It's just better not rain!) So, to get me through this very long workweek, I am going to set my mind for three days from now.

Board No. 77 - Vintage Repurposed

I signed on to Etsy yesterday (I wanted to post this then, but I've been pretty busy) to find these wonderful pillowcases featured on the front page of the site. I just love them, probably because of the different vintage materials she used I can count the number of sheet sets that I had growing up (3). I love it!

Well, that's inspired this collection of vintage items that have been repurposed to have a whole new life ahead of them. I know it's chic right now with recycling or upcycling or whatever, but I just love vintage and if something is tattered or dated, it's nice to feature it in some other way...

Board No. 76 - No, Thank You!

This has been the summer of weddings and engagement parties for me — it seems like there's another one each weekend. Well, because of this, I have worn lots of pretty dresses and received lots of Thank Yous for the numerous gifts given. That has inspired this post — plus, randomly, I was listening to Pandora while I was pulling items to feature here and Natalie Merchant's "Kind & Generous" came on (it was beshert). "I want to thank you thank you... I want to thank you thank you..."

I have been contemplating what to post here all day and I was stumped as to what would be relevant all weekend. Well, what finally came to me — in my completely random train of thoughts — is a post full of fun hats. They not only keep the sun out of your eyes, but it is also the fashion accessory of choice for Miss Aretha Franklin, who will be singing the National Anthem at "A Capitol Fourth" celebration on the National Mall Saturday.
